He is married to LaRene Monahan and lives in Hyannis. They are involved in a family ranching operation involving Hereford cattle and commercial and purebred herds.  Monahan and his wife have three children, Shantel, J.T. and Sarah. 

Monahan has been a director of the Sandhills Cattle Association, past president of the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association, member of the American Hereford Association, Nebraska Hereford Association and past director of the Sandhills Fire District. Currently he serves as President of the Sandhills Cattle Association.    Bryan graduated from Hyannis High School and attended Curtis Tech School majoring in Production Ag.  His interests include ranching, hunting, fishing and golfing.
